Procedure & Fees

Procedure

Susan prefers to paint her subjects in their personal surroundings and will come to their home or office. The artist requires one or two sessions with the subject, during which time the goals of the portrait are discussed and the artist becomes familiar with the subject. Questions of size, formality clothing, details and background of the portrait are addressed at this time, and some preliminary photos may be taken.

The next meeting consists of a photograph session with the subject photographed in different poses and compositions. After the artist reviews the preliminary photographs, she will meet again with the subject or client to confer and select the final pose, likeness, and composition. A brief photo session may occur at this time.

For large or more complex portraits the artist will provide a color sketch. Delivery is arranged upon satisfactory completion of the portrait, usually 3 to 8 months.

The artist is also pleased to assist with framing advice if the client so desires.

Oil Portrait Fees

Each Portrait is priced individually to suit the clients needs. The pricing depends on size and complexity. Please feel free to contact the Artist for more pricing information. Informal Portrait Sketches are also available.

Framing, shipping, taxes, and travel expenses are additional. After photos and studies have been completed and size and composition have been confirmed, a 50% deposit is to be made at commencement of the portrait. Total payment is due upon completion.

Client satisfaction is guaranteed.
